Hasankeyf is one of the most popular spots in Turkey. Located in the southeastern city of Batman, Hasankeyf hosts ancient cave houses, castles, one mosque,a tomb, a cemetery and a huge castle which is being excavated as of today. Hasankeyf is also well-known for the fact that after certain dam constructions in the region are completed, Hasankeyf will be floaded and won’t be available for visits.
You should definitely see some of the cave houses, some of which are still inhabited by local families today; and go up the hill to enjoy the view of the neighbouring mighyt Tigris river. You should also see the minaret which reflects the typical architecture of the region.
